Nahid, the National Committee Party (NCP) candidate contesting the Dhaka-11 constituency, has publicly urged BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to respond to the call for national dialogue initiated by the Jamaat-e-Islami ameer. Nahid emphasized that communication between top political leaders is essential for resolving the prevailing political deadlock and ensuring an inclusive democratic environment.

Speaking to the press regarding the current political impasse, Nahid stressed that the responsibility for finding a resolution lies primarily with the leaders of the nation’s largest parties. He specifically highlighted the Jamaat ameer’s recent proposal for a dialogue aimed at bridging the political gap and ensuring stability.

“The current crisis cannot be solved through rigid positions or street confrontation alone,” Nahid stated. “When a significant opposition party like Jamaat-e-Islami extends an olive branch for dialogue, it is incumbent upon leaders like Tarique Rahman to respond constructively. An affirmative response would demonstrate a commitment to democratic negotiation over conflict.”

Beyond the top-level negotiations, the NCP candidate also strongly advocated for open election debates among all candidates vying for office. He argued that healthy politics requires leaders to engage directly with the electorate, presenting their policies and visions rather than relying solely on established party structures.

“Voters deserve to hear directly from their potential representatives. I call on all candidates, especially those from major parties contesting Dhaka-11, to participate in open, transparent debates. This process is vital for allowing citizens to make informed choices based on merit and specific policy proposals,” Nahid added.

Nahid concluded by reiterating that dialogue, whether between party heads or among local candidates, remains the most viable democratic pathway forward. He urged the BNP leadership to treat the Jamaat ameer’s proposal as a genuine opportunity to initiate broad political discussions necessary to guarantee fair political competition and national stability.
